Consultations are not necessary to get started, however, if you’re not sure which of our training programs are right for you, or you are looking to get answers to some questions prior to signing up for training, we recommend a training consultation either in-person or by phone. This is a chance for you to talk to CJ about what behaviors you are experiencing with your dog, what you would like to accomplish through training, and to also figure out which of our training programs is right for you.
The in-person dog training consults are 90 minutes and take place either in your home or at our location in Ramona. Phone consults are 45 minutes and are great for those without a lot of time, live outside of San Diego County, or outside of California.
Those coming to us to train from far, either out of state or who live outside of San Diego County and staying local to us overnight, will have their private one-on-one lessons scheduled on back-to-back days. This is for your convenience and needs to be planned far in advance. Please see program details on our Service and Rates page.
In order for us to provide the best service possible to our clients, we need all parties to be onboard with learning how to make this stuff work for you, your dog, and your family. Also, we need to make sure that we are efficient with our time. In order to do that, we need to make sure that all decision makers for dog will be present during your consultation.

Please note, there is no cost for consultations but we do take a reserve. We will need a credit card on file to get you scheduled. We are not going to run your card unless there is a no-show. We have limited time during the day for consultation. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, we will bill the card $29. However, if you give us enough notice where we can fill the time slot, you won’t be charged at all.
