More on virtual training - This program is for:

- virtual training is NOT the best for severe aggression, though Skype can still provide value in the dog's owner getting the right insight and perspective

- those who cannot find the right trainer in their area

- adopting a new dog or puppy

- working with your own dog but feel stuck

- been through previous training but still have questions and still need to solve problems

- understanding important topics

         - reactive follower vs proactive leader - why your mindset matters

         - routine based structure (great to do!) VS scenario based structure (even better!) and what you're missing

         - socialization through exposure/interaction VS socialization through exposure coupled with the right guidance

- self starting, motivated, driven dog owners.  Let's face(pun intended) it, once you get the knowledge, you NEED to do the work.

         - for some of you the answers may be simple.

         - for others, you may need to prepare to do more than you think

- picking CJ's brain - we try to keep it dog training related

This is a great option for owners who are looking for obedience, attention around distraction, problem solving more severe issues, and to improve the relationship they have with their dog. Since behaviors in dogs are attached to the environment in which they live and the people they live with, learning to make the right adjustments at home and potentially within yourself (mindset) thus setting the dog up for the best success possible.  By following what we teach and recommend, your dog will develop a foundation of knowledge and behavior that will make it much easier for you to fully enjoy your dog, often without the embarrassment of unwanted behavior. This will empower you to build on the relationship you have with your dog where he will look to you for the right leadership and guidance.

We specialize in low-level remote collar or, e-collar, training where we develop the ability to create consistent communication with dogs over varying distances.  The remote collar is one of the most versatile training tools on the planet!  It allows us to speak to our dog in a conversational tone (no raising your voice or yelling at your dog).  The training tools help us to establish communication with the dog in a way that makes sense to the dog and are the most humane and effective way to communicate.  That way, we get the right response and can help the dog overcome some of the most difficult challenges (this often includes mental challenges such as fear, nervousness, anxiety, and insecurity.

We pride ourselves on boutique-style, specialized, one-on-one attention paid to each individual dog and situation. By comparison to the rest of the industry, which tends to do a higher volume of dogs and longer programs, our very unique approach to training and rehabilitation allows us to go further with your dog in less time and create transformations unavailable elsewhere.

In this program we work on the following:

  • Walking properly on a leash without pulling, barking, lunging, sniffing, or reacting to dogs and/or distractions.

  • Sit

  • Down

  • Place command

  • Recall/Come/Here

  • Duration work (dog holds the command for periods of time(long stays))

  • Waiting at Thresholds/patience

  • Correcting bad behaviors - jumping up, counter-surfing, mouthing, nipping, barking, chasing, playing keep-away

  • Crate/kennel nonsense(barking, whining, etc.)

  • Treadmill

  • Separation anxiety (some dogs need a longer program)

  • Fear/Anxiety/Insecurity

  • Heeling properly on a leash and eliminating leash reactivity (intense dogs need a longer program)

  • Building confidence

  • Leadership skills and understanding that people are the leaders. This helps with pushy behavior in dogs

  • We work with fear, anxiety, and insecurity that is usually contributing to unwanted behaviors

In the longer programs, we address all forms of unwanted behavior, including, but not limited to:

  • Aggression

  • Food and/or Resource Guarding

  • Separation Anxiety

  • Severe Fear Issues

  • Reactivity On-Leash

In order to obtain the best results possible, you will need to implement the right structure and leadership at home and implement all training protocols recommended to you.

Those coming to us to train from far, either out of state or who live outside of the Richmond, VA and surrounding areas and staying local to us overnight to complete one of our programs, we can supplement your training with phone/Skype sessions but please keep in mind that ongoing support is part of your program.
